that they were there.

Mr. Mok handled the money merely to convey it from my counter to

the payee. I cannot leave my counter on account of the amount

of money there.

As a rule I used to see the receipt signed, I was rather in a

hurry that day. I was not feeling very well. I had a touch of

fever.

On no other occasion have I found any money missing at the end

of the day. I have never had any occasion to suspect Mr. Mok's

honesty. He is very hard working.
